Parallel Positioning
Parallel Positioning is a fuel/air ration control strategy in which the fuel input is controlled separately from the air input by using separate actuators for the fuel valve and the combustion air damper. Control is affected by repeatedly placing the actuators in their proper positions. The fuel and combustion air are not measured. Parallel positioning with VFD adds a third element of control by allowing changes to the combustion air fan speed.
